7 Winter Skin Do's and Don'ts

Boots? Got 'em! Gloves? Of course! Super-cute hat? Indeed!

Brrr, it's cold outside. I love cold weather fashion but winter air sucks the moisture out of my skin and makes my skin and hair dull looking and, dare I say it? Bland.

If, when the temperature drops, you suffer the same fate, follow these seven tips to end your winter skin woes:

  1. Protect your hands by moisturizing them after each hand washing. If it's your turn to do the dishes, slather moisturizer on your hands and then put on some rubber gloves before you start soaking those plates. By the time all the dishes are done, you'll have deeply conditioned those weathered digits of yours! Read our 6 other tips >>>

How to Wear the Smokey Eye Look

The smokey eye is one of our favorite looks for a night out and, when toned down, is great for day. But, let's be honest: It's one of the toughest makeup looks to master. Seriously, whom among us hasn't tried their best only to end up looking like a trampy raccoon? Sigh.

Yippee. Help is here. Benefit has created a kit (sorta like paint by numbers thing) that lets you create a fool proof look.

Lastly, keep your lips low key to balance the look. Blood-red lips just don't work when you have a smokey eye. Put down your favorite red lipstick and instead, line your lips with a nude liner, blending the color towards the center of the lips. Finish up the entire look with a pinky-nude shade to give your lips that extra shine.

Mascara Envy

CoverGirl's LashBlast Length MascaraIf one more person asks me if I've tried CoverGirl's new LashBlast Length Mascara icon I may cry. I'm beginning to think I'm the only Beauty Editor who hasn't experienced this Fall's must-have product. So, rather than sitting around feeling sorry for myself (please don't hate me, I know there are much bigger issues in the world today and I do care about those too) and wondering why CoverGirl didn't send me a preview tube too, I just ordered the supposed miracle-in-a-tube from Drugstore.com icon

I opted for the free shipping so I don't know when it will get here but the moment it does, I'll tell you if it is as fabulous as they say!
